Originally this one was a setup for Mary's introduction a month later. There were supposed to be more comics between this and Christmas, but we missed a couple updates, so they got put off until later. This one also started to establish the layout of their apartment, which we wouldn't solidify until later down the line.

As of this commentary, the Miss Colorado story hasn't been explained, but it probably will end up as a flashback later down the line.
